Since Ad Astra is part of the Heroblog universe, I thought it was fitting that the forum should go here. I'll be cleaning up the member list and exercising a bit more control over who joins and such, so there may be some delays in activating memberships, but I promise I will try to keep the spammers off the site.

Ad Astra is a labor of love and I hope it catches on with readers as time goes on. One of the wonderful things about online comics is the ability for new readers to catch up. You may be just discovering Ad Astra, but it's all there online for you to read. In a few hours, you're on the same page as everyone else.

So, here we go again...

I don't know about keeping out the spam Joe, but this was the biggest pain in the butt registration process I have EVER been through on a message board in my life! It took me about 40 minutes just to find a name I could use, and the registration kept crashing.

At least I'm here, for whatever it's worth

Nope, I'm off on Thursdays.
Hmmm, I didn't have to register since I was already signed up, thru ezboard. I'll check it out, I don't remember it being difficult.
I would have kept using the old forums if I had a way to pull up a list of members with controls to delete them in batches, but you have to do each one, individually. Ugh. There's a few thousand spammers signed up there. If I can find an app that's easy to work with and has that feature, I'll probably switch back to my own server, or run them both. I dunno.

They never erase anything...it's been years since I touched any of the ezboard sites I used to frequent, but it still knew me. I had to change my signature, though...not only does the place no longer accept HTML in sigs, it had links to a site that hasn't existed in something like five years. :)

Well, I will be up that way on my way to Kansas on Thursday. I don't know if I'm spending the night in Dallas or not, I may want to push on to where the motel rates are cheaper, but I'll be up all night Wednesday night at work, so we'll see. I'll email you about it, and we'll figure something out.

I use the PHP software for my bird message board and yes, I have to delete 5-10 spammers a day. It's a pain the butt, but it's well worth it to keep the spam off of the board.

For all I know, I have an ezboard account, but at this stage of my net career, darned if I can remember what the password(s) might be.
